"A New Twist on an Old Tale"
The holiday season provides our community with a seemingly overwhelming abundance of sights, sounds and events to experience in only a few short weeks’ span. This multitude of activities can often make it all too easy to let pass some of these fantastic opportunities to experience the spirit of the season and familiarize ourselves once again with the wonderful variety of artistic talent our community has to offer.

The Enchanted Playhouse Theatre Company will be offering up to the community its own holiday production to add to the Christmas stocking full of events to celebrate the season, and we would encourage you not to “pass” on this rather unique and exciting production of “A Christmas Carol” adapted from that well-known morality tale of the same title written by Charles Dickens so many years ago.

What makes a production of “A Christmas Carol” unique and exciting you might ask? After all, it has been produced and performed by literally hundreds of schools, theatre companies and movie studios. Why, even Jim Henson’s Muppets have there own version of this seasonal tale. Undoubtedly anyone who is any kind of a fan of the story at all has his or her favorite version to enjoy over and over each holiday season. And, true fans may remember a one-man version of “A Christmas Carol” performed in the mid 1990’s by Patrick Stewart aka Jean Luc Picard of Star Trek the Next Generation fame. While we do not have Patrick Stewart to grace our stage at the Enchanted Playhouse, we do have College of the Sequoias drama instructor and talented community actor Chris Mangels who will be bringing to us a one-man production as he assumes the role not only of Ebenezer Scrooge but of all the memorable figures in this time-honored tale. It will be a truly unique evening of theatre sure to appeal to any fan of the story.
